  • Vintage Theatre + Modern Cinema

We've set the stage, now we're bringing down the BIG screen. Witness the revival of the Martin Movie House at Theatre Dublin.

The BIG Screen + Dolby 7.1 Digital Surround Sound

The latest in sight + sound technology in the comfort of our historic theatre.

When we say big, we mean BIG. No expense was spared when designing the cinematic experience for Martin Movie House at Theatre Dublin. Our state-of-the-art digital projection system features a custom 40 foot wide seamless retractable screen - by far the nicest you'll find in the state of Georgia. The BIG screen combined with our 15-speaker motion-driven digital surround sound system will immerse every inch of our 620-seat theatre in a rich visual and sound experience.

    The Backstory

Reliving history to set the stage for the future.

The Martin, affectionately known through the years as "The Martin" or just simply "the downtown theater," was built in 1934 and operated as a movie house until it closed in the late 70's.

Through the years after closing it was used by a civic theatre group and at one point was used as a cotton warehouse. The movie house sat empty so long a pond filled the stage end of the building.

Enter The Martin's knights in shining armor. In the mid nineties, the old theatre’s saving grace came along in the form of several benevolent local businessmen and an entire community that rallied behind them. Together they all worked to save the historic theatre from demolition.

Renovated and re-branded, Theatre Dublin opened its doors in 1995 as a premier performing arts center in the heart of Downtown Dublin. Now entering its third decade since renovation, Theatre Dublin has solidified its place as a treasured landmark. The revival of Martin Movie House at Theatre Dublin will not only create a dual-purpose venue- serving performing arts and film - but a truly dynamic backdrop for arts and culture. There are still countless memories to be made at The Martin.

    The Martin Experience

So, what can you see on the BIG screen? Well, we've got it all.

    The glorious hardware.

The Martin experience is one like no other. With our forty foot state-of-the-art BIG screen you'll feel like you're a modern day moviegoer stepping back into the early days of The Martin. The 7.1 Dolby digital surround sound speakers accompanied by their two impressive subwoofer sidekicks will completely immerse you in the cinema experience. First runs, classics, movie marathons...Martin Movie House will have it all.

An experience any family could afford.

Our ticket prices are jaw drop worthy. Maybe we can't match a 10-cent matinee, but we can try our best -- because, hey, we're doing this for the fun of it. And with super competitive ticket prices, there's no doubt you will ever wonder if it's worth taking a step over to the concession stand. Always open and ready, our concession stand is waiting to fill your craving of warm, buttery popcorn and ice cold Coca-Cola. Did we mention loaded chili cheese nachos and soft pretzels? Oh yeah, we're doing it. With competitive pricing that encourages family outings and great date nights, there's no more breaking the bank to see a movie on a quality screen.

    Let's time travel.

The experience doesn't stop there. With Martin Staff and attendants dressed in classic movie house uniform, bow tie and all (complete with a smile, of course) and light music playing outside on the sidewalks and in the lobby, you will step back in time to great service and an unbeatable atmosphere, while still having a state-of-the-art cinema experience.

    Why Give + Advertise?

Theatre Dublin is driving economic development.

Quality amenities = a stronger community & Industry profile.

For nearly 85 years, Theatre Dublin has stood as a treasured landmark in the heart of our city. Through the efforts of the Dublin Downtown Development Authority, and too many others to name, it has continued to impact the transformation of our downtown since its renovation in the 90's. There's a new energy flowing out of our city center and the once faded heartbeat of our town is alive! Become a part of the movement to bring new life and new legacy to our historic theatre by giving and grabbing a front row seat.

    The Pre-Show

It's the show before the show and your audience is watching.

The cinema's attentive audience disconnects from the iPhone and reconnects to the BIG screen. The recall rate on cinema advertising is 7x greater than TV and other forms of media. Why? It is the one medium of advertising that has continuously proven constant growth and plays before a captive audience. Hollywood studios and distributors spend millions of dollars weekly to push local people to the theatre to see movies and YOUR MESSAGE.

    The Moviegoer

70% of all Millennials go to the movies at least 6 times per year and that number is growing.

Moviegoing is the #1 form of entertainment reaching 77% of adults 12+ annually. While other media is struggling to maintain effectiveness and relevance, cinema is growing strong. Cinema's unique ability

to offer you premium content in front of a desirable audience in an immersive environment gives you the most impactful impression of any screen in the media landscape.

    Donation + Advertising Packages

We have a BIG screen, but there are giving opportunities of ALL sizes at Martin Movie House.

The reinvention of Martin Movie House is a gamechanger for our historic theatre and our community. We'll customize a donation + advertising package just for you, placing your business in front of 40,000 moviegoers annually. We'll build custom video, graphic, and animated content highlighting your business for our pre-show, lobby, and website platforms. And, hey, we'll throw in movie passes and swag for your entire company, too. This may be the most value-packed donation you've ever made.
